Pro-Palestinian Protests at Top American Universities

Pro-Palestinian protests have erupted at leading American universities in response to the recent mass arrests of demonstrators. Last week, Columbia University decided to cancel in-person classes, while dozens of protestors were arrested at Yale University. The gates to Harvard Yard were also closed to the public on Monday as tensions over Israel’s conflict with Hamas escalated on campus.

At Columbia University, over 100 pro-Palestinian demonstrators were arrested after camping out on the university’s green. This incident sparked similar protests at other prestigious institutions such as the University of Michigan, New York University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Moreover, across the pond in Europe, student-led demonstrations have also gained momentum. In Paris, around 100 students took over a lecture hall at Sciences Po last month in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
