Police in Paris took a man into custody at the Iranian consulate following a witness report of a potentially armed individual wearing a grenade and explosives vest. However, authorities have not yet confirmed the presence of any weapons.

An official from the Paris police, who requested anonymity due to departmental regulations, mentioned that law enforcement officers are currently determining the man’s identity and searching for any possible weapons in his possession.

After receiving the alert about the suspicious individual around 11 a.m. local time on Friday, police swiftly initiated a special operation at the consulate. The man’s motives for being at the location remain unclear.

Despite the intense police presence and deployment of special units and firefighters, no reports of explosions have emerged from the scene. Following the arrest, some of the emergency responders left the area, allowing traffic to gradually resume in the vicinity.
