European Aid for Ukraine

UK’s Defense Spending Increase
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced a rise in defense spending to 2.5% of GDP by the end of the decade, aligning with the UK’s efforts to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities as it combats Russian aggression.
US Military Aid Approval
The US Congress recently approved a $61 billion military aid package for Ukraine, providing significant support to Ukraine’s efforts. This approval has been welcomed as a crucial step in aiding Ukraine against the aggressor.
Call for European Support
Chancellor Scholz urged other European countries to consider expanding their support for Ukraine. While Germany has offered a third Patriot missile battery, he highlighted the importance of collective European assistance in Ukraine’s defense.
Scholz: “The United States’ decision doesn’t release us here in Europe from the task of further expanding our support for Ukraine so that the country can defend itself against the aggressor.”
Sunak: “Every country has got different things that it can bring to the table.”
